Gathering; Miktzeh Ha'aretz
Sasson is a Seattle based ensemble which was formed in 2005 by Keith Judelman, Benjamin Gown, Adam Kessler, and Eli Rosenblatt. The Gathering is a collection of early works by the group and features a number of guest artists. It displays the wide range of talents and experience within the ensemble. From the Gypsy/ klezmer sounds of Shereleh and Matzoh Balls, to the North African groove of Shomair Li, the roots reggae vibes of Gesher Tzar Me'od and Mizmor, to the beautiful, sensitive renditions of Psalm 23 and Chofetz Chaim, ending with a joyful samba, Shoshanat Ya'akov that will have smiling every time. This album is a well crafted artistic journey that flows smoothly around the musical world in a tasteful manner. The works are cohesive and the sound is consistent. Need a vacation?
