Children's Memorial Hospital Benefit
Here come The Schnozberries. We could have sat around and played tonka trucks. We could have eaten ice cream for lunch. We could have spent all our allowance at the gumball machines. But we started a ROCK BAND! That seemed to be the sensible thing to do for a few grown-ups who wanted to be kids again. However, that\'s not the end of it. Not only did we want to be kids again, we want kids to be kids again. So this isn\'t any ordinary rock band... Every penny we make from CD sales is donated to a program that helps to put a smile on the faces of children who need it the most. Our current focus is Paige\'s Music Program, which was established in memory of Paige Katsiavelos, a young girl who spent time at Children\'s Memorial Hospital and sadly passed away from her sickness. Music, Paige\'s mother explains, was one of the only rays of happiness during that difficult time. Illnesses were forgotten and hope was increased when volunteers came in to sing with the children and their families; if for only moment. Along come The Schnozberries from Chicago with the idea of a children\'s music project that would raise money for Paige\'s Music Program. Soon after, local producer and songwriter JT McCluskey joined the project as producer. With the help of talented Brendan Byrnes, Patrick Klaybor and an impromptu children\'s choir, The Schnozberries recorded the benefit CD. The five songs that make up the benefit CD are fresh, original rock tunes that kids will beg their parents to put on, and parents will secretly listen to when the kids aren\'t in the car. Cool stuff.
