Rhymes with Orange
Scott J. Reed has been writing and recording songs since the late 1980s. The first instrument he learned to play was the clarinet in the school band, and has since learned the drums, keyboards, bass and guitar. From 1991 through 1998, he served as drummer/vocalist for the band Enemy Does Not. When they broke up, he began working on his own material, and spent the next few years honing his craft as a solo songwriter. In the summer of 2006, he spent a few months as the drummer for Grand Rapids band the Sleeves. Following his departure with that group, he formed his own record label, Kitchen Soup Entertainment, in January of 2007, and began recording lots of demos for a solo record. Finally, in January of 2009, he released his debut album, RHYMES WITH ORANGE, on which he played all the instruments and sang all the vocals. He also produced, engineered, mixed and mastered the entire album himself. Scott's schedule is booked solid these days as he is currently in the studio working on a follow-up album, and is also the keyboard player for The Pat Zelenka Project.
