Clouds & Fire
If Carole King and Paul McCartney decided to write songs for Steely Dan, and the BeeGees were brought in to produce (but they weren't allowed to sing), it might sound something like 'Clouds And Fire', the ambitious new project from Scott Riggan. 'Pop music has been kind of stagnant for awhile,' observes Scott. 'I know I'm not the only one who\'s bored with everything on the radio. I hope this CD will appeal to grown ups who worry less about how 'hip' their music is and more about whether they actually like it.' And so far, it appears a lot of people "actually like" Scott's music. Starting with his history-making #1 single on Christian radio ("I Love You Lord" hit #1 nationwide - no small feat for an independent artist), Scott has built a solid following throughout the US. In addition, Scott's ministry has taken him all over the world, with concerts and mission work in Tanzania, Ghana, Mexico and - most frequently - in China. "God has definitely placed China on my heart," he explains, "and I've been able to play a small role in some great things that God is doing there." Between touring as a guest of the Chinese government, producing a Mandarin Chinese worship CD and serving with the underground church, his work in China continues to expand. Scott's new partnership with Mission Of Mercy, an international child-sponsorship organization, will allow him to offer his fans the opportunity to impact the world in a significant way. "I think many of us are overwhelmed by the tragedy and chaos that exists in the world. Sponsoring a child through Mission Of Mercy is a way to touch another person's life and provide them with real help. To meet their needs and introduce them to Christ. To give them hope."
