Faith Funk & the Promises of God
Scott Seabock Biography With a sound that's in the groove and heavy on the funk, Scott Seabock delivers a brand of high energy Gospel music that gets the crowd on their feet and ready to praise. As a vocalist/composer/arranger and self taught musician, Scott realized from the time he was saved ten tears ago that he wanted to use his gift of music for more than personal glory and attention. After trying to get the big record deal in secular music for some time, he came to understand God was calling him out of darkness into His marvelous light. Scott received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in 1993 and has not looked back since. In 1994 he and three friends formed the original gospel band 'Alive' which played to audiences in the Delaware Valley until 1998 when Scott ventured out to become a solo artist. Since 1996 he has also been involved in teaching the word of God at various churches in the South Jersey area as well as coffee houses and churches where he has performed music. Scott has been praying for a way to combine the two ministries of bible teaching and musical performance into a powerful outreach to others in the church and outside. ' The teaching ministry keeps me grounded in the truth of God's word and that inspires the music I write. It's just amazing that God would use a poor sinner like me to tell others about Himself' Scott remarks. For the past three years Scott has been writing and recording the songs that have become his new CD release 'Faith, Funk and the Promises of God'. From the Earth, Wind And Fire inspired 'Lord's Prayer' to the hand clapping, foot stomping sounds of 'Faith, Hope and Love' these songs reflect Scott's love of the soul and R&B music he grew up listening to. With a vocal style that's been compared to everybody from Michael Bolton to Ray Charles, Scott delivers the timeless gospel message in this collection of twelve original grooves that are energetic, uplifting and just plain funky. As Scott says 'I am blessed that my love of music and of proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ have intersected on this project. I believe this style of music would be more likely heard in a club on Saturday night than in a church on Sunday morning but that's just the point. God has used my love of this music and opened doors to perform and share in places that I otherwise would not have had the opportunity outside of the church. For this I am very grateful'. Believing singing and dancing to be the natural, or rather, SUPER natural reaction to God's goodness and mercy, Scott desires his music to be a celebration of the great salvation we possess in Jesus Christ and all that He has done for us. It is his hope and prayer that God would use this music to pierce the darkness with the light of His love. Scott lives in Mauricetown N.J. with his wife Kim and children Nicholas and Sara where he remains as always, in the pursuit of Christ and in search of the ultimate groove.
