Originally from Belfast, Ireland, Seamus Kennedy has been entertaining audiences all over the U.S. for more than three decades. With a repertoire that encompasses just about everything in the folk genre, he can go from a heart-rending ballad of Ireland's historic troubles to a daft ditty and a silly song, with lots of humorous patter thrown in. He accompanies himself on the bodhrán (the Irish hand-drum) and the guitar, and he encourages audience participation and singing along. This CD, Party Pieces, are the songs he heard his parents, aunts and uncles, family and friends singing at parties back home in Ireland in his youth. They run the gamut from the eerie, ghostly love song She Moved Through the Fair (his father's party piece) to the completely silly Spaniard Who Blighted My Life - his mother's party piece. Feel free to join in, laugh or sing along, and maybe get a party piece of your own.
