Edwin J. McEnelly organized his great New England and Victor Recording Orchestra in 1907 in Milford, Mass. The orchestra became so rapidly popular that the five-piece band soon expanded to eight and then to fourteen pieces. The personnel varied from time to time, as did all big bands, but "Mac" never failed to secure the best musicians obtainable, including trumpeter/cornet player Waino Kauppi who appears on this 21 track collection of original Victor recordings. It includes a 20 page booklet with dozens of photos and the history of the band, plus a complete discography and notes about each of the recordings.
