Secret Lover is: Delanna Protas (formerly Delanna Brody), keyboardist and lead singer on most Secret Lover tunes. Delanna is also a prolific songwriter and the chief lyricist for the group. She has performed in various road bands, traveling from her native California to New York and all points South. Butch Cooper, drummer with an elephant\'s memory for rock and roll trivia. Butch wrote the anti-disco tune \'Disco Rock\' when working with Starfoxx. When the song charted nationally for eight weeks, BMI signed him to an exclusive songwriter\'s contract. Other rock groups Butch has worked in include The Heaters, Tandem, and The Imposters. He loses more equipment than anyone else. Big Al Jano, bassist, senior member and organizer of the group. Big Al only does vocal leads on the band\'s tongue-in-cheek tunes, but he writes most of the political and social derision found in Secret Lover\'S repertoire. He has worked in everything from drag show back-up bands to opening rock acts for many national artists such as Carlos Santana, Joe Cocker, Chicago, and ZZ Top. According to Big Al, he wrote \'The Condom Man\' when he \'realized the fear of HIV and AIDS is more a deterrent to having sex than the fear of the death penalty is to committing murder.\' Chris Staros and Nick Perugini - guitars and vocals. Staros\' metal and hardcore background, combined with Perugini\'s pop and jazz fusion, produce a dichotomy of styles which click together in an explosive manner. Staros worked with the metal group Lethal Promise and also has a comic book website Top Shelf 2.0. He travels world-wide to comic conventions. Nick Perugini has worked in both rock bands such as the Devil\'s Advocate and in jazz fusion groups such as Central Park West. Secret Lover\'S unique combination of musical expertise makes Delanna and her gang worth checking out, especially if you are schizophrenic in your taste of pop-rock.
