It's in Jesus
Sharon Sylvester was born and raised in London, England. At the age of seven she made her first public appearance at Clapton Square in London. Sharon participated in various events and talent competitions and received numerous top prizes and awards. During her early teenage years, Sharon performed with her group, Black Shades. Sharon performed solos and played drums for the group. Black Shades toured extensively throughout England and developed a large following. Sharon's musical skills and vocal talents were refined and honed while participating in various workshops such as Triangle Musical Workshop, the Basement, and Covent Gardens. While Sharon's passion for singing and writing continued to increase, she felt a need for change and in 1984, she migrated to the United States of America. Sharon continued her pursuit of a solo career, performing at various nightclubs in New York and New Jersey, and collaborated on projects with several different artists. In 1988, she met Reggae recording-artist, Rula Brown, and Sharon's new single, 'Don't Wanna Lose You,' was featured on his album. 1989 was a major turning point in Sharon's life - both personally and musically. Early in the year, Sharon opened for Bob Marley's backing group, the 'Wailers,' at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey. Later that year, after being injured in a car accident, which almost claimed her life, Sharon surrendered her life to Jesus Christ. Sharon's singing was no longer entertainment but became ministry. She now realizes her purpose for singing is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a dying world. With Christ as her foundation and the Gospel as her message, Sharon is currently active in street ministry as well as nursing home and prison ministries. In 1996, Sharon participated in a music workshop and performed in concert with recording-artist Donnie McClurkin. In her most recent recording 'It's In Jesus', Sharon exhibits her multi-talented abilities in writing, arranging and producing. Sharon has shown versatility in her singing, which covers different styles in gospel music, and her ministry continues to excel as she captures the attention and acclaim of people everywhere. Sharon Sylvester is not afraid to use her God-given talents to bring a message of hope to the world, while giving glory to God. Sharon is letting her light shine bright and making a viable impression on the Gospel music industry. Sharon's itinerary includes featured performances in England and throughout the United States.
