Shower Curtain Madness
This is a mix of high energy, teenage angst, happiness and creative songwriting. Diverse bands are a rare find these days. They are one of the rarest of diamonds; A moment of originality within the torrents of modern music. Their music is art. Shower Curtain Madness (SCM) is one of those bands. Their music offers a unique form of creativity and offers a distinct sound, blending music styles from dance to metal. They draw from a variety of influences as well, such as The Beatles, Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Dinosaur Jr, Scissor Sisters, and Modest Mouse. After a previous band project ended, frontman Dylan Jerrell started recording some songs in his stepdads studio. As he was writing and recording, he became friends with guitarist Jacob Rommerskirchen, and slowly but surely, their future musical project Shower Curtain Madness would come to life. Jerrell and Rommerskirchen were instantly compatible musically, showing and discovering new bands with each other. Jerrell had always wanted to be in a band, and as an advanced musician with a wide variety of instruments, it only seemed like the logical thing to do with such talent. But without a drummer, the idea of a band seemed unlikely. They continued to write songs and explore their musical talent, and eventually, one day they came across a sign that claimed a drummer was looking for a band. They contacted Sabastian Neudeck, the present drummer of SCM. The three met together, and after hearing a few tracks of Jerrell and Rommerskirchen's collaboration, Neudeck was impressed. He hopped on board, contributing as a drummer and with creative input. After practicing for a while, they recorded and cut their debut album/demo. The album was produced & engineered by Jerrell's stepdad, Ian Baird, of Arjuna's Soundroom located in Greenville IL. Shower Curtain Madness has developed into a solid band with a solid sound. -Sam Filby.
