Just Reach Out in
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1976, Silvio moved to Venezuela at the age of fourteen. After a few years living there he and his family moved to Bogotá, Colombia, due to his father's business relocation. His parents were determinant in his love of music, exposing him from a young age to various styles and genres, mainly classical, Argentine 70's rock and Northern Argentine folklore music. At the age of 6 they presented him with his first instrument, a Yamaha recorder flute. Even though he showed creative abilities in various fields, he remained passionate about music as he grew up, moving onto other instruments such as the piano and the guitar. Throughout his young adulthood he participated in many poetry and short story contests, setting the stage for the development of his songwriting abilities. In his native Buenos Aires, 80's bands like Soda Stereo, Sumo, Charly Garcia, Sui Generis and Depeche Mode helped shape what would later become his own style of music. While living in Puerto La Cruz, -a small town in Eastern Venezuela with a very strong alternative rock movement-, he became interested in performing live music, enlisting himself as the keyboard player of many important local rock bands, like "Xposito", "Section 98", and "Black Train." Silvio currently resides in Houston, Texas and plans to release his first solo CD, -three years in the making-, at the beginning of 2009. The album, titled 'Just Reach Out In' is a collection of ten songs, an exploration of all the musical styles he has been exposed throughout time and space. He quotes: "inspiration works in mysterious ways, and poetic license is my guardian angel, hence listening to my album will be like taking a roller-coaster ride through various musical genres like blues, alternative rock, Spanish rock and country."
