Thinking of You
SLAVA Enjoying an accomplished musical career in his native Russia, the musical phenom known simply as Slava has embarked on a journey to find his dream in the entertainment conglomerate of America. Gathering his musical expertise from a childhood near Siberia, Slava honed his talents on a myriad of instruments, playing music composed by the world's legends, and is now writing his own masterpieces. Yet, the remoteness of his homeland could not keep the legends of modern music from deeply influencing his artistic style. Crediting Pink Floyd, Quincy Jones, American Jazz, and Gypsy musical influences only serves to give one a glimpse of his unique and hauntingly romantic sound. His love of music is evidenced in his quest to learn and immerse himself into it's every variable. As a self-taught guitarist and a violin prodigy, Slava was recruited by the prestigious Khabarovsk Arts and Skills Academy where he excelled in performing the classics and was honored for voice, saxophone, and flute; and later played piano with the Khabarovsk Philharmonic Orchestra. Slava so felt his music that it transcended the political chaos of the Soviet Union. His energy and creativity stifled, he sought opportunity elsewhere. Slava joined with internationally acclaimed music talents from India, Brazil, USA, Holland, France, China, and many others as he embarked on his touring successes throughout Far East Russia, Japan, and Asia. Opportunity in the form of love brought Slava to America where he seeks to broaden his artistic development and notoriety. Upon his arrival in the USA in 1998, warm audiences in Chicago who were invigorated by a new sound readily greeted him. Slava was finally free to express his language of music and quickly became a known name in Chicago's music underground. Now relocated to the State of Washington with his American wife, Slava is ready for his adopted country to hear him and to feel the music that has captured his heart since he was a small boy. Through Slava's music, his experiences and emotions will be heard and felt to the depth of the soul. And his audience is richer for it.
