I Did This 2 U
The Biography of Sonny Daytons In 1980, the South Bronx was given another star. Like most kids growing up in the BX, life was anything but luxurious. For this young Puerto Rican, life was filled with drugs and violence. The streets were all he knew. It finally caught up to him in 1995. He was sentenced to two years in a DFY. Writing was his outlet, but did not get serious until he was released at the age of 16. Sonny recorded his first solo album in 2003. It was an 18 track mix tape called 'FEELIN THE PRESSURE', which was hosted by DJ RATED R. Sonny Daytons sold 3500 copies out of his trunk. Sonny Daytons entered in Jammin 107.7's radio station hip-hop contest in Connecticut. Winning three times in a row, his name and music were posted in the Jammin 107.7's Hall of Fame. His next project was with DJ WOOGIE from G-UNIT/SHADYVILLE Entertainment. DJ WOOGIE hosted Sonny Daytons mix tape called 'BRONX CLASSIC'. After that, he worked on a project with the legendary bounce master DJ DOOWOP. DJ DOOWOP hosted Sonny Daytons' mix tape and also featured on one of Sonny Daytons' songs called 'PUT EM UP'. Sonny's influences were NAS, BIG PUN, MOBB DEEP, BIGGIE SMALLS, 2 PAC, JAY-Z, THE GAME. He felt all these artists brought something real to the table that he could relate to. Even though, these artists inspired him, Sonny has his own unique sound that no other artist has. Big Pun opened doors for other Spanish artists and Sonny is going to continue where he left off, but with a totally different sound.
