Through the power of music, SouthDub has created an unparallel connection with their fans around the United States. They have entertained, enlightened, uplifted many of their peers and proven to be very independent. SouthDub being no stranger to danger has endured many obstacles throughout their childhood and adolescent years. With both members losing their older brother to gang violence, their father is killed after taking a bullet to the head and member Brandon A.K.A Docious nearly losing his life as a kid. One would expect them to be a product of their environment; instead SouthDub members Smash & Docious stayed ambitious and developed a "Unstoppable" mentality. Smash born April 18, 1986 & Docious Feb 18, 1988 in the big city of Los Angeles, and raised in Oceanside, Ca, they both seen and experienced what a lot of rappers rap about. Later that year they would create their own rap group by the name of "Basic Image" at the ages of 9 & 7. 2 years later they would find themselves 1200 miles away from Oceanside, living in southern city Oklahoma City. It wasn't until 2004 they stuck with the name SouthDub. Prior to 2004 Members Smash & Docious were still trying to adjust to Oklahoma City but adapting real quick. Little did they know Oklahoma City was where they would begin their grind towards success and learn what it really means to survive? They began to explore their surroundings and get real familiar with the Southwest part of Oklahoma City . Meeting new people and running into some future business partners. 2000 would bring a devestating year though, after their older brother Teroin was killed over something senseless. This was a difficult time for the entire family and all were affected some type way. Shorlty after their brothers death, Docious up in left Oklahoma City and headed back to California while Smash stayed and developed a musical relationship with close friend Keeng James. It was 2 years later in 2002 when Smash called his brother Docious in California and told him he was now writing flows. Docious always had a love for music so didn't hesitate to join his brother back in Oklahoma. Smash & Docious's reunion would lead to them starting a group called Tribe and Keeng James producing their first beat. It was their passion for music at an early age that kept them writing and fighting to be the best lyrically. 2004, Smash & Docious dropped the name Tribe and SouthDub surfaced. Over the next 3 years SouthDub continued to rap and master their styles while developing a deeper passion for what they were doing. Unhappy with the success of their music they decided to pursue their music career full time and thought they'd have a better opportunity in California. So in 2007 they headed back to Oceanside with dreams of making it big. Within 3 months of their return, SouthDub had reunited with family and friends and was ready to take control of their destiny. Their family was impressed with the progress they've made lyrically so their older sister lead them to Angel Sicc, who at the time was being managed by Troy "SOR" Hall, Founder of Coastline Ent.
