Everything Happened in a Day
Spivy's Roof was the dream of singer/songwriter Tom Calzini. After arriving on the Los Angeles music scene a few years ago from Boston, he met drummer, Scotty Lund, and Bassist, Michael Fratantuno. Tom knew after a year of searching, that these were the guys to fulfill his 'dream' band. Scotty took the band to his friend, producer/engineer Michael Milchner, to do a demo. It only took one night of tracking to realize the potential these guys had, and he offered to do a whole CD! After more sessions than they care to remember, they finally finished their latest release, 'Everything Happened In a Day'. The collection of songs on 'Everything Happened In a Day' is representative of the eclectic backgrounds each member in the group has. Their influences range in all styles of music including Rock, Jazz, and Hip-Hop, to name a few. The members of Spivy's Roof individually have been pounding the musical streets of L.A. for some time with much success. Tom had a long stint with the very popular L.A. group, The Velvet Chain. Michael is currently touring and recording with Interscope Records Hip Hop group Black Eyed Peas. He formed the neo-pseudo-funky instrumental group Beat Pharmacy with the backup musicians from the Peas, to perform on their own, as well as backing up the notably talented Tre from The Pharcyde on his solo project. Scotty spent the early part of his career with the legendary surf punkers, Agent Orange. He later went on to tour and record with Dreamworks Records Forest for the Trees and Elektra Records 1000 Clowns, as well as establishing himself as a leading session player in town. Despite their busy schedules, Spivy's Roof remains the motor to keep their dream alive of being in a group with the freedom of writing and performing from the heart. Their music is unique and edgy enough to please today's radio mainstream listeners, yet satisfying enough for those looking for a group to buck the trends.
