Rot N' Roll
Rot'N Roll compiles the classics of composting and recycling. These lively tunes have provided the "juice" for Stan Slaughter-a.k.a The Eco-Troubadour- and his award-winning programs. Kids love to groove to the beat and the rock to the "rotten" lyrics. Since it's first release as a cassette in 1993, Rot 'N Roll has been around the world and used by hundreds of schools. This "Extra Content" version has 12 songs plus karaoke* tracks, live performance videos and music notation for three of the songs. Revised and re-released in '05, this new CD includes two new earthworm songs and focuses even more on composting and recycling. Now over 3,000 in sales, Rot N' Roll features The Garbage Blues, The Landfill Blues, The Garden Song, The Composters, Put Me in the Compost Pile, Feed It to the Worms, The Recycle Shuffle, Pretty Paper, Garbage!, Earthworm, I am Recycled and Cosmic Stew. These are the songs that have powered Stan's 15 year career presenting waste reduction assemblies in schools around the country. Funny, squishy, and fact-filled, these are the greatest hits of Composting and Recycling. There's a special EXTRA CONTENT section that has videos, sheet music and "karaoke" tracks for sing-along. I finally got a chance to pop the Rot N' Roll CD in the car's player last week while traveling around Iowa. What a great collection! It's a perfect way to introduce kids to fun messages on recycling and composting. Better yet, if they've seen Stan's program, it's a great reminder of the things they can do everyday to make a difference for the environment. Keep up the great work! - Dewayne Johnson Executive Director Iowa Recycling Association Stan Slaughter's CD Rot N' Roll brings forth 'visual songs' for kids of all ages to begin to understand the import of composting, recycling and resource conservation. I can see those worms composting up a storm in my minds eye when listening to and enjoying his tunes. His work reminds me that we have a beautiful natural world and that in exchange for that reward all of us as citizens have an obligation to compost and recycle. And to leave a small footprint on the earth so that the generations following us will enjoy the earth's resources. Stan has been successful for many years because of his ability to present educational and instructional information in a fun and colorful way that kids clearly enjoy and respond to favorably. He has packed a lot of good into one small CD and I recommend listening to his work to kids of all ages from 3 to 103. - Pete Grogan Recycing Guru and Former President of the National Recycling Coalition.
