Beginning from the End
Starbound played in California's Silicon Valley in the early 1980's and featured Danny Ray, Kathi Copans and Fred Gardner. Their unique original compositions included elements of folk, rock, country, and jazz. In concert, they were just plain FUN! Danny Ray and Kathi Copans formed Starbound in the San Fernando Valley, near Los Angeles. Fred Gardner joined the group in 1979 after an unintended meeting with Danny around a swimming pool at their apartment complex. The trio immediately discovered their knack for harmonizing and creating music. Kathi and Danny wrote their first two songs; recording a 45 single featuring 'The End' and 'Next Time'. Somehow, everyone moved to Boulder Creek, California in 1980 and began playing in quieter venues in the Silicon Valley; while continuing to write their music. The Wine Cellar in Los Gatos was a particularly popular venue for the group and one could count on a rousing Saturday night with a dedicated following. Starbound completed this album, 'Beginning From The End', at the end of 1980 and held a major concert with it's release. Times have changed and the vinyl album has been digitally enhanced and lovingly reproduced as this CD. Standby to be Starbound! The first song, 'White Horse (The Key To My Heart), races you through a rocking midieval love song. You soon find yourself back in the present trying to find 'Another Way'. You are haunted by the beautiful ballad 'In Your Eyes'. The jazzy 'Children Go Through Toys' gets you thinking about the small margin of difference between children and adults. You eventually get to the 'The End' and prepare yourself for the 'Next Time'. Danny, Kathi and Fred put their hearts and souls into the album and hope you find yourself humming some of the songs. Now, countdown to be Starbound!
