New Vision Caf+?
New Vision Cafe (1998) S*O*E 's latest release turned out to be a Double-CD Album! There is almost 2 hours of music, capturing some exceptional guest performers and lively versions of these 17 all-new original songs. This is an album of great diversity, from the jazzy guitar trio of 'Little Chord Thing' and the high whimsy of the title tune, to the reflective imagery of 'In and Out' and the bluesy groove of 'Got To Roll', to the sophisticated rock duet 'Alone Together' and the driving horns in 'Go On Then' to... And yet, taken together New Vision Cafe is another of those great S*O*E explorations, this time farther and deeper into even more wonderful new worlds that you have heard before, and with the finest sound quality finally! The 11-minute 'Makin' Records' with it's heart-wrenching violin work is a one-of-a-kind experience. But then, that's only halfway into this landmark release; Just Wait Until You Hear 'Double Jointed', and 'Three Steam Trains', and there's Still More! You will want to turn it up Loud for the drum solo in 'Warrior's Dance', and then go back and hear it all over and over again. This is the album you will want to put on when your friend brings over that new major-label release that everybody's buying, and blow him away. This is the one with so many of the musicians on it that you've seen and heard and loved in the past at our shows, back together and playing better than ever. Over two years in the making, this is truly a labor of love. Professionally recorded and produced at studios from the eastern United States to Hawaii, New Vision Cafe captures the energy and live feel that has made State of Enchantment 'THE Band of the '90's'. 'New Vision Cafe' follows the 1995 release 'Sweet Daddy's Back'. The group have also released 'Diogenes' in 1993, 'With Love' and 'Hard Blue Night' in 1991, and 'Live Studio' in 1990. 'With Love' and 'Live Studio' were reissued in 1998 following 'Sweet Daddy's Back'. All have sold out, and are not currently available. 'Sweet Daddy's Back' is planned for reissue in 2001.
