Stefan is known primarily as an award winning singer/songwriter and slide guitar wizard. He's hosted and performed at the Kerrville Blues Project for over ten years, performed at the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, toured Europe and Hawaii multiple times and played countless clubs, festivals, and concerts throughout the Southwest USA. He's opened and/or performed with numerous acoustic blues legends such as: John Hammond Jr., Mose Allison, Junior Lockwood, Honey Boy Edwards, Rory Block, Taj Mahal, Eric Bibb, Guy Davis, Dave Van Ronk, John Jackson, Sultan & Ball, Steve James, Del Ray and bluegrass great Norman Blake. This new album leans more towards the bluegrass, old time country side of his musical personality. His life long love of the country classics like the Carter Family, Stanley Bros., and Hank Williams led to the creation of these twelve original songs written in a flurry of inspiration over the last year. Stefan then assembled virtuosos of acoustic country from Tucson to back him at the world renowned Wave Lab Studios to produce this CD, 'Blue House'. Capturing the old time, string band country sound of joy and heartache was a pleasure and a laugh, with the serious, but relaxed fun of top notch musicianship these players possess. The Fellow Travelers are: Tim Wiedenkeller on banjo, Earl Edmonson on fiddle, mandolin, and guitar, Neil Harry on pedal steel, Steve Grams on bass, Lavinia White & Bobby Kimmel on backing vocals, and Tom Larkins and John Convertino on drums. Recorded 'mostly live' in the studio you can hear the good times had, from barn burner to ballad. Although Stefan's usual genre is blues, he took to these country songs like a fish to water and it shows. So sit back and listen to country the way it used to be played, with truth and committment on every track.
