Love Is Your Favorite Weapon
Step Stevie Step is an indie rock group from Murrieta California that simply loves music. They love writing it, playing it, listening to it, selling it, making fun of it, and eating it with a side of hash browns. They are recent high school graduates who are soon taking off to college and we just recently put out this fabulous album. They hope you adore it. Ryan plays lead guitar in the band. His primary influence is Brand New -- he has an intense man-crush on Jesse Lacey. He loves music, capture the flag, and How I Met Your Mother. He's essentially the backbone of the band -- he books the shows, holds rehearsals at his home, and really holds the band together. Critics say Ryan's guitar-playing is 'intense' (The Edge, lead guitarist of U2), 'just right' (Randal Stratford, his father), and 'cool, fo cheezy' (JT). He is a fighter, not a lover. But that's okay. He fights for our right to partay. He fights for freedom. He fights for the last piece of pie. He fights for America. He fights with Phil. Mike is the technical frontman of the band. His influences include a wide range of indie pop such as The Format, Jack's Mannequin, and Death Cab for Cutie. He is also the peacemaker for the band, whenever there is tension before a show mike is there to make sure everyone is calm and suggest that Phil lead us in a relaxation session. The boys would be a mess without him. Critics say Mike's dancing is 'brilliant in it's cross-breeding of classical and contemporary styles' (Christine Tarabilda, professional dance instructor), 'well-crafted and surprisingly suave, soothing in it's faux-chaotic facade' (Nygel Lythgoe, famous dancer), and 'hot' (all the ladies). Mike is the master of his domain when it comes to ping-pong, he can ping a pong like a fat boy can ding a dong and like a talented vocalist could sing a song. Michael has a blue personality, meaning he takes everything everybody says absolutely to heart and frets about it constantly. 'Well, I mean, like... I just don't know... I just can't... ah. Stephen... ah... Phil... ah. It's just that Chr... ah... I mean. You know what? I'll just talk about it later.' (Michael Rushton) Phil sings and plays bass/mandolin in the band. He also plays guitar, drums, piano and every other instrument he gets his hands on. His primary influences are also very wide-ranged -- John Mayer, Incubus, and Kanye West are up there. He loves music, basketball, and taking long walks on the beach in the moonlight with attractive females. Phil makes the ladies blush with a single 'la da da di da' and a simple twang on the guitar puts them under his spell. Stephen's favorite songs on the album, 'I'm the Archer. You're the Kill' and 'Praises,' were written by one Phil Fernberg. Stephen is green with envy. Stephen sings and plays piano and guitar in the band. His primary influences are similar to those of Michael (but Stephen has slightly better taste). He loves music, writing, and being generally awesome. He's the core songwriter in the band, and the band most likely wouldn't have an album without him, or a decent one anyways. (It is true, Phil wishes he could write songs like Stephen). Stephen is a fan of fine literature. Where else would he find such prime inspiration? Stephen has a blue-yellow personality. Stephen can be caught dancing in front of the mirror, practicing his signature 'fish twist boogie'. If you don't know what this move looks like, he'll gladly show you - it is a sight you won't soon forget. It has been said by a few women that Stephen looks like the one and only Tom Cruise. Stephen has lately taken up cooking and lately the band has been sick - but whatever stephen lacks in the Kitchen he makes up for with his musical knowledge. You should listen to that boy talk about those dominant sevenths. Dan plays drums in the band. He also sings and plays acoustic guitar. His primary influences are similar to those of Phil -- especially Incubus and Brand New. He is the Man, it is the complete truth. He loves music, soccer, and Britain. Dan is Heaven-sent. Don't you dare forget. Daniel uses phrases such as 'bloody hell' and 'mate' and 'a'ight bruv' and tends to fall into a hard British accent when playing an intense game of ping-pong. Mr. Barnes likes to smoke the occasional cigar as well. Others refer to him as 'Dandelion' and 'Dan da Lion' and 'Dandy Lion'. Any of the latter are acceptable. Dan can throw beats like his secret lover, Justin Timberlake. 'My homeboy, Danizzle, can throw beats like he's writing a symphony. It was a bummer he turned down my offer to let him lay down a few beats for the album. He has a rad tattoo on his sexyback.' (JT) Dan is a lover not a fighter, unless you talk up some trash about his home town, his homies, and his homosexuality. That was a joke. Dan loves women. We think.
