Stephanie Pilypaitis stands at a petite 5'4, but her voice would never admit to that. Her passionate melodies and thoughtful lyrics will find you days after you've heard them; it's not only her interesting last name that makes her hard to forget. Her guitar is a backdrop for the stories she creates; many times, these lyrics come at inopportune times, i.e., before having to get up early for her coffeeshop day job. Thankfully, a latte in the morning makes up for her lack of sleep! She released her first EP in November 06, which was recorded at Empty House Studio. This was one of the first of many dreams to come true. She almost cried when the Chris Saub Trio agreed to be her band for the big release party. They will always hold a special place in her heart! Stephanie currently plays mostly solo shows, with a few band performances in between. You can easily find her booked around Omaha, but her longing is for the road... She listens to a ton of music, but you might be able to tell that her sound is deeply inspired by folk and rock artists. Releasing her EP marks only a part of an exciting journey; she believes her purpose is to make music; everything else will have to settle for second place. If you have the opportunity to hear Stephanie perform, her hope is that you would feel a little bit lighter, a little bit more alive, by the end of night.
