My dream finally came true the day I walked into the studio to record this CD. Six years ago I met my producer and good friend Chris Hajian. We recorded together many times in his studio. I can still hear him saying, 'Be patient, work hard, pay your dues, and it will come'. Then, in 1999 while on the road with the national tour of Victor/Victoria, I met a songwriter by the name of Stewart Saint-David. Stewart was the keyboardist for the show, and he had a trunk full of music and a head full of ideas. We began our partnership then and have been writing songs together ever since. In August of 2000 my fianceé Lisa was working in Hong Kong, so I spent a couple of weeks with her. While there, I met 'Uncle Ray Cordeiro' of RTHK-Radio Hong Kong. He holds the Guinness world record for being on the air longer than any disc jockey in history. For the first time in 37 years, he invited someone onto his show to sing live. That person was me. I knew then that I was heading in the right direction. As soon as I got back to New York I put the wheels in motion. Being an ex-fighter I thought I knew all there was to know about fear, but previous to this experience in Hong Kong, the idea of making a CD had frightened me. Now I was no longer afraid. I put 5 original songs together with 4 of my favorite cover songs to create this album. Now I can't wait to do it again! Steve was born in Far Rockaway beach NY. He comes from a family with a strong music background. His mom Evelyn became a professional singer when she was 16, back in the early 40's. Uncle John Fabs was a famous trumpet player from the late 20's to the late 50's, playing with such grates as Tommy Dorsey. In 1974 at the age of 16 Steve joined the rock band Fantasia. The youngest member of the band by 3 years he stepped into the world of Rock & Roll. Guitar and vocals, Stones to Chuck Berry, music was it. In his senior year in Lawrence HS he was introduced to the Theater. Acting and singing in musical comedy found a place along side of rock & roll. In college at SUNY Oneonta he studied a little, played in some rock bands, preformed in some shows and found some time to Box a little at the Oneonta boys club. He took a shot at fighting for a short time after collage but soon gave it up to chase his music and theater dreams. In 1993 while living in Columbus Ohio Steve met lisa, his fianceé. Together they came back to NYC. Steve hit the pavement running. Acting classes, voice lessons and auditioning for everything and anything. In 1999 it paid off. He landed the lead roll of King Marchan in the National tour of Victor/Victoria and things just started to roll.
