From over 1,000 songs, most of which wound up in a trash can, comes 'First' the appropriately titled debut CD from singer/songwriter/guitarist Steve Tabor. All songs on 'First' are original material by Tabor and were written in 2001. Tabor, who calls Topeka, Kansas his hometown joined his first band in 1969 and began live gigs at 15. 'First' is a mixture of ballads, middle of the road and country rock. With vocals like those of James Taylor and Jackson Browne and guitar playing that reminds one of Carlos Santana or Richard Betts of the Allman Brothers, Tabor brings a lifelong dream to life with the release of 'First'. Tabor calls his debut CD a 'learning experience' and calls it a 'thrill to share his original material with others'. Currently Steve is playing with the Blues Bums and a Babe, a blues band in Topeka. Tabor will continue to write new material and looks forward to collaborating with new people.
