The Steven Kim Band formed in Los Angeles, California, in late 2001 when Steven decided to perform a few of the songs he had written at a local music and arts festival. Pitching his passions, Steven brought together an impressive roster of local players and after two rehearsals put on a landmark performance that kicked off a string of shows that continues strong today. Frontman Steven is classically trained on the piano, and through rock influences such as U2 and Queen, he has honed a sound that makes contact with a certain energy. That energy is especially evident during the live performances where he proves his showmanship as a performer in addition to being a songwriter. Creative song writing without the need to reinvent the wheel proves time and again that good basics and honest storytelling are a great formula for great songs. The Steven Kim Band has played many well-received shows to new and old fans alike, packing world-famous clubs such as The Knitting Factory, Viper Room and The Whisky. On December 26, 2003, the Steven Kim Band released it's first EP titled '1420', named so after the original name of the band.
