Stiletta is a two-year old rock 'n' roll three-piece in the bay area. Mila, Shelly and Chloe found one another after all working on Telegraph Ave. They soon discovered a musical chemistry despite their differing tastes. Influenced by old school punk, post-punk, classic rock, hardcore, psychedelic, garage and 50's tunes, Stiletta creates a unique rock sound where melodic vocals quickly become enveloping harmonies. 50's bass progressions are paired with screaming chords and strange guitar solos, a phenomenon the band calls "the heartbeat." Constantly evolving, Stiletta as elicited comparisons to many bands, though most Stiletta fans will tell you that they don't quite sound like anyone else. Their sincerity and high energy level produce a unique stage presence that appeals to a diversity of people from elite hipsters to teenage girls to thirty-something business people to DIY punks. It's not uncommon to see fans asking for autographs from the band after a set, not because they're a famous mainstream band or act like snobby rock stars but because people genuinely appreciate them. And no topic goes unexplored: unrequited love, murder, fashion, friendship, banality of jobs, the horror of public transportation, alcoholic landlords, etc. Stiletta has played many venues in California from The Gilman in Berkeley, Café du Nord in S.F. to Whiskey A Go Go and The Cat Club in L.A. Stiletta has played memorable shows with The Lovemakers, The Soviettes, AC/DSHE, The Mothballs, Royalty, etc.
