Love & Politics
GREETINGS FROM STONY POINT! Thanks for clicking on us. Love and Politics contains ten original songs from Stony Point, a five piece band from Sonoma County, California. Featuring strong lead vocals and melodic guitar solos, Stony Point serves up an exciting and eclectic mix of rock & roll and Americana. This is an album about life and love in troubled times. Test of Time was written just days after 9/11, yet much of what it predicted has come to pass. Daddy Did It offers a funky ballad of the Bush Administration's rise to power, while Foolin' You is now nearly nostalgic for it's background of headlines surrounding the Harkin scandal, given all that's come to light since then. But there is more to Love & Politics than just, well, politics. One That Got Away, City of Love, Time Heads East, Old Pictures, Mary -- these are songs that resonate regardless of the political climate. Folks tells us we sound like the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams .... but why let other people categorize us? You listen, you decide. UPDATE **** UPDATE ***** UPDATE ***** UPDATE STONY POINT recently returned home from a three-night run at the Bright Angel Lodge on the south rim of the Grand Canyon, one of our favorite places on earth!! We had a ball performing for tourists from all over the world, and sending discs home with a good many of them. We played with our 4-piece acoustic set-up and recorded every note, and will be compiling the very best of those sets for a live album. So watch for that coming soon ..... As usual, we are performing regularly at venues throughout Sonoma County. Please come out and say hello.
