Matt Clark (Jim Davis), railroad detective, investigates crimes committed against the Southwestern Railroad company, with the assistance of his female partners, Frankie Adams (Mary Castle) and Margaret "Jonesy" Jones (Kristine Miller). During their exploits, Matt and his partners cross paths with some of the most notorious outlaws the West ever saw. This series' material drew upon authentic newspaper files and records. In 1955, Stories of the Century became the first western to win an Emmy Award in the then category of "Western or Adventure Series".
