Asbury Park Then & Now
In the simplest of terms, it is my life in musical form, a record of time spent honing my craft with some help from the finest musicians and friends on the Jersey shore. 'Asbury Park Then & Now' features the true original creators of SOAP (Sound Of Asbury Park) by the true musicians before it spread world wide with Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny, and Bon Jovi. My early years were spent performing, promoting, recording, and writing for mostly black groups such as Harry Ray & The Valtairs, The Uniques, Tony Maples, The Soul Set, and accapella's by the finest of groups Barbaroso & The Historians. Stormin' Norman & The Joyful Noyze featured the first recording session with Clarence Clemons, the classic unmatched lead tenor vocals of Nicky Addeo & The Night Owls, Stormin' Norman & Steel Breeze with Pam Minson, Bernard Pretty Purdie and most amazing for historians and collectors, 8 never before heard recordings with 5 members of Bruce Springsteens E Street Band backing up Stormin' Norman on lead vocals and piano. Garry Tallent, Clarence Clemons, Max Weinberg, the late Danny Federici, background vocals from Southside Johnny, and talented female singer/songwriter Jude Johnstone on Misery Loves Company. This 2 CD set is playing all over Europe in Denmark, Sweden, The Netherlands, Belgium, Holland, and Germany just for starters and Stormin' Norman Seldin was involved with two sold out performances at the world famous Stone Pony in 2008 when Asbury Park Then & Now was launched. If you love a great variety of music, plus historical recordings both new and digitally re-mastered gems, this is the double CD of the year! With over forty years of music and 275 hours of re-mastering, this is a set of recordings you can't find anywhere else.
