Surcari derives it's name by combining sur, the Spanish word for south (as in Suramérica), and Cari, the first four letters of the word Caribbean. The members of Surcari are originally from Chile and Puerto Rico. This CD consists of original compositions as well as sparkling arrangements of traditional and contemporary Latin American, Andean, Afro-Caribbean, Spanish, and world music fused with the sounds of the classical guitar, Andean panpipes, and Latin percussion. Surcari performs on over thirty wind, string, and percussion instruments. 1. BOMBA CANDOMBE © 2006 ASCAP (Drum Dance) Bomba / Candombe Comp. & Arr. Lorena Garay 2.
