One Hundred Nights of Passion
The newest album from San Francisco's favorite weirdo-jazz circus act! This time around, the horn section has been expanded to include a honkin' baritone sax and a sprinkling of ridiculous noodling flutes in addtion to tenor sax, trumpet, and clarinet. The rhythm section has been restyled also, and moves with a more slinky, modern dance sound than before. This is due largely to the addition of a percussionist and the inclusion of more groove-oriented, organic beats. There's still a heavy backbeat, but no solos at all this time - the focus is on melody and overall arrangement. This is music that will make you chuckle and get your feet moving. Highly recommended for fans of Symon's music, who have waited for years for this moment. We think you'll agree: it was worth the wait!
