Tearing Down the Walls
"Tearing Down The Walls" by Ten by Tuesday is an exciting collection of ten pop/rock songs with energy, heart, emotion, and purpose. It harkens back to the classic albums of the 60s and 70s by The Beatles, The Who, and others through the songwriting and scope of the project, and combines that with modern influences such as Coldplay, Beck, & U2 through the sounds and approach. Throw in some of the vocal approach of Tears For Fears and you have a fresh, new project that will get you excited about listening to a new CD all the way through again! Ten by Tuesday was formed by the songwriting team of Matt Bissonette and Rob Rinderer. Matt is a bassist who has worked with Ringo Starr, Rick Springfield, Don Henley, Jeff Lynne, and many others. Rob is a keyboardist with an eclectic background who has worked with Billy Preston, Michelle Shocked, Brian Bromberg, The Norm Stockton Group and many others as well. The band also includes Matt's brother Gregg (Toto, Ringo Starr, Brian Wilson, & Santana) on drums and Rich Nibbe and Doug Bossi on guitars. Matt and Rob share both the songwriting and vocalizing on the project, often trading lead vocals within a song (even mid-verse). The name "Ten by Tuesday" came about when Matt and Rob decided to get together and write. In the interest of being in the moment, Matt threw out a challenge that the two of them should write ten songs by the following Tuesday (hence the name). The challenge was met as all ten songs that you hear were close to completion by then. This very quick songwriting helped to create a project that is a snapshot in time-exactly what the artists were feeling at that moment. It provides a very intimate and real experience for the listener.
