Singer, song writer, brass musician, lover of God, and follower of Jesus. Terence S. Cooper is what you would hope to find in a worship leader: someone as committed to being a musician as he is at serving God. Born in SoCal to a Marine Drill Instructor and a musical mom, Terence's upbringing included discipline and lots of music. The result was someone who understands growth in any endeavor. 'You have to put some repetition in your life if you want to master anything.' Terence's main instrument for many years was the French horn. In fact, the high light of his horn playing career was playing principle horn for the La Jolla symphony in the mid-90's. While in the thick of self training on the horn, Terence sang in various groups on a local city college campus. A jazz choir and a chamber ensemble. He didn't fancy himself a singer until he noticed how it made other people feel. He says, 'God does something to people when I sing. It's not me but God in me. When I remember, I like to pray that God will move on hearts in spite of me. Then when someone compliments me on my voice, I thank God for answering my prayer.' It's his hope that he will be able to write and sing songs that make people smile, cry, and draw closer to God.
