In the Emmy®-winning the Gathering, a dying father, Adam Thornton (Edward Asner), arranges a Christmas reunion with the family he's neglected in the hopes of making peace. Maureen Stapleton plays his estranged wife Kate. In the Gathering Part II, Kate runs Thornton Industries and is wooed by a wealthy financier (Efrem Zimbalist, Jr.) whose intentions are unclear.
