Product Notes
One of the most talented and adventurous of all producers on the electronic music scene who has been specializing lately in the downtempo, lo-fi world, Billy Paul Williams is more legit than most - and the reason being is that BPW is not only a great technician, he is a supremely gifted musician - as proven by his work over the years with many different styles of music and the innate musical knowledge he brings to the table, no matter the genre or medium he's working in at the time. Simply put, he's just so much more musical than most of his contemporaries - and a lot of that has to do with intuition as much as his obviously superior musical abilities. When listening to BPW's work, no matter what the medium, you never hear just a calculated technician - you hear music that is natural, no matter how electronic - you can hear a human being producing art that matters. BPW's latest project leans on the jazzier side of house music with the full-length album "Silicon Swing & Prohibtion Vibes" featuring The Replicant Jazz Orchestra. One of BPW's most ambitious projects to date, the 13 tracks that comprise the album each have something special to offer, including "Let's Remember The Good Times," which features Valerie Carr, who lends her vocal prowess to the jazzy proceedings .
