I hope you like this CD. Some of my songs are autobiographical, some are written through the eyes of others, and some I just make up. I've been influenced by a lot of different musicians and bands (the Beatles, the Stones, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Chris Isaak ('Forever Blue'), Elliot Smith ('Figure 8'), ELVIS, Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews, Radiohead, etc.), but this is my own sound. These are my own words. Here are some words from the song 'Sand Castle': ... a child's eyes created this moat filled it with water and a plastic boat I walk past this image it will soon fade into sea wish upon a star to be so free. Here are some from 'Positive Thinking': I woke up positive positive, I thought I got a bad deal on that castle that I bought. That was no queen that was no throne I'll add it to the list of the things I should have known. Was that really me in that tragedy? I think I find the odd a neccessity oh, I believe in positive thinking, take away that potion she's been drinking... And, from 'Abends': ... Well, I smiled when I recalled the finale Because I've kept the stories hidden so long inside me The insane aspect of the plot line is causing abends Maybe the happiness I feel is my soul trying to cleanse And, from my the oft forgotten 'Bone': ... I can't tell you you'll have to learn on your own the truth, can be beautiful or it can cut you to the bone. ... when you're laughing like a fool when your seeds are being sown you think it'll last forever then you're cut to the bone. ... I can't tell you, the ice cream will fall out of the cone one minute, you're a happy child then you're cut to the bone. All songs written by Thomas Fagan, except Tornado, words written by the gifted Alabama poet, Rod Scott. Vocals, guitars, drums, drum machine, noise, production: Thomas Fagan except 'I Had A Beautiflul Life', with the voices of Susan, Kevin, Candice Fagan, Grandpa 'Joe' Carty.
