Ave Maria, Sancta Maria
Thomas Griego sings a romantic international style of music like that of Josh Groban, Michael Bublé and Mario Lanza, with a repertoire ranging from traditional Opera, Broadway, Standards, Latin Music to Contemporary "Popera". His sophisticated styling is uplifting to see and hear. Griego's February 2009 performance with the Albuquerque Philharmonic Orchestra to benefit UNM Children's Hospital marks his second appearance at the Albuquerque Italian Filmfestival, performing Puccini's "Minnie, Della Mia Casa Son Partido" and Verdi's 'Di Provenza il Mar' from La Traviata. Following the Philharmonic Concert Griego performed a variety of Italian Art songs and contemporary romantic pieces at the Festival's Pranzo Degli Spuntini hosted by Embassy Suites. As one of four cantors at Our Lady of the Assumption parish in Albuquerque Thomas Griego sings regularly in it's Choir and for weddings and funerals around the Archdiocese and can be heard cantoring the Archbishop's annual "Red Mass" honoring the legal profession each year in October. He formerly performed with the vocal duet 'Chi Mai' whose last appearance was at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in September 2007 to Benefit Amigos Bravos (Friends of the Wild Rivers). More recently Thomas has performed at the South Broadway Cultural Center with the Albuquerque Philharmonic Orchestra and at the National Hispanic Cultural Center with the Giovanni String Quartet. He performs regularly with Jim Ahrend at Scalo Northern Italian Grille, Casa Rodena Winery, Corrales, NM and the Albuquerque Sunport. His recently released CD of sacred music was recently featured on Immaculate Heart Radio, KALY 98.9 FM, Albuquerque, NM.
