Cats Paw & Other Unfamiliar Favorites
I have been a musician for 40 years and a luthier for 30 years. I started building mountain dulcimers, in 1974 ( wanted to play one, but could not afford to buy one) and quickly moved on to anything with strings. I am self taught however, I draw from a family heritage of fine woodworking. My Grandfather and Great Uncle (Owen Bros. Magic Supreme) made illusions for magicians like Houdini and Blackstone. My discovery and love for Hawaiian music led me to research the instruments that Weissenborn, Knusten and the Dopyera Bros. Made in the early 20th century. Many of my instruments draw directly from their pioneering work. This is my first CD with all my favorites, some you might know, some you won't. I play all the instruments on the album, and I made all the instruments on the album. Thomas plays: Weissenborn Hawaiian guitar, single cone resonator guitar, resonator ukulele, 5 string banjo, mountain dulcimer, 1 string stick bass, and sort of sings.
