Three Rivers Jackson
Three Rivers Jackson is a three-person band originating in Bloomington, Indiana. Sean Donnelly sings lead vocals while holding down the rhythm guitar. Pablo Svirsky plays bass, sings backup vocals and takes solos from time to time. Dustin Koester also sings backup vocals while banging away at the drums and touching up songs with percussion and a keyboard. Due to their originality, their style of music is easier to define by their influences than by their actual sound. 3RJ is a rock band aiming to create skillful music that sticks in your head long after they're done performing. Once you get past the rock'n'roll, there is evidence of intense jazz training, hours of bluegrass pickin', and endless blues and gospel jamming. The guitar sound exposes the effects of a bluegrass childhood mixed with a grunge adolescence. The bass often plays lead like a guitar and shows evidence of years of training in jazz and blues. The drumming displays veteran experience, pep band power, and complicated fills. They mix in several covers during shows, but only when they can adapt the style of the song to their own unique styles of playing. Three Rivers Jackson's shows vary from night to night, but there are always three things you can count on: experienced and creative musicianship, solid entertainment, and something to hum on the way home. The Three Rivers Jackson story begins in 1998, when Sean Donnelly and Pablo Svirsky first met. For the next seven years, they played in several cover bands in Indianapolis before moving to Bloomington and becoming an acoustic duo. A couple years of writing music, performing for friends, and endless jamming proved fruitful when they met Dustin Koester in 2004. By early 2005, the three had agreed to form a new band in order to express their musical desires. The three members all have diverse performing experience from R&B groups, pep bands, showchoirs, jazz bands, symphony orchestras, etc. They are now performing across Indiana promoting their self-titled first full length professional album, which was released in early March. They have released two independent EP's as an acoustic duo: Perfect State in April of 2004 and All I Need in March of 2005.
