Born to a singer and DJ, Tiana Hewlett was destined to have musical tendencies as well. At the age of nine, Tiana began singing. It was not until age 12 that she realized she had a gift. That gift flourished into an incredible talent that was displayed in various school talent shows and plays. Singing her favorite songs, "Greatest Love of All" by Whitney Houston, and "Hero" by Mariah Carey got her much kudos, including winning "Most Talented" in her high school. Tiana got involved in singing groups in high school. With the other members not being as serious about a career in music, she eventually went solo. Shortly after that, Tiana's Aunt Jackie, who is also a very talented singer introduced Tiana to her producer, Frankie Fultz. Once Frankie heard Tiana sing and saw that her voice was a beautiful as her face, he knew he wanted to work with her. Frankie began working with Tiana and learning about her. He noticed that although she was very pretty with a sweet voice, her personality and songwriting reflected a strong street savvy. Frankie soon donned her "Ghetto Butterfly." The "Ghetto Butterfly" recorded in the studio as much as she could. Before long, Tiana had a large library of music. Before starting to market and promote her self in pursuit of a professional singing career, Tiana was hindered and lost focus. Eventually she got back on track and going after her heart's desire, singing. After seeing a quote that said, "How do you achieve success? Dedication" Tiana knew what she had to do to obtain her dream. Tiana went back in the studio to add to her library and further develop her abilities. Tiana is currently working hard to complete her first album. The project is scheduled to release this summer, 2005, on the independent label, Aris Records. Tiana looks to follow in the footsteps of some of her favorite artists, such as India Arie, Monica, Beyonce, and Aaliyah. While studying Criminal Justice and Forensics, Tiana will be recording and performing in pursuit of her ultimate dream career, a Female urban R&B Artist.
