The Tired Eyes' story begins in Norwalk, OH with singer/songwriter Ryan Schepers. Involved with music since the age of 13, Ryan has self-released four full-length albums and two eps. At the age of 20, his most recent endeavor has him paired with his brother Eric (bass) and friend Dex Mohr (drums). Eric has also been involved with music for awhile now, teaching himself guitar and bass in high school, while Dex has been drumming for close to 10 years now. Together they are known as The Tired Eyes. Playing together since mid-2007, the band is a throwback to the days when songs and feeling were just as important as looks and style. Drawing from influences as varied as classic rockers Neil Young, the Faces, and Mott the Hoople to current bands such as Wilco, Dead Meadow, and Brian Jonestown Massacre, the band is a sonic cocktail of record collections past and present. The band recently finished up their self-titled debut album. Recorded in Ryan's basement-studio, the album contains elements of alternative, country-rock, psychedelic, and just plain rock and roll. Dubbed "garage blues" by a friend, the music is a thunderous mix of snarling guitars, driving bass and drums, and a touch of organ.
