T.J Goff is a native of the state of Alabama . Born in Birmingham and raised in Mobile, he now resides with his wife and daughter in the San Francisco Bay Area . T.J. is a graduate of Auburn University ( Auburn, AL ) and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary ( Fort Worth, TX ) where he worked toward his Master of Divinity degree. He is currently the Worship Pastor at Bay Hills Community Church in El Sobrante, California. T.J. has been performing for as long as he can remember. He began singing in churches with his family and solo when he was only three years old. T.J.'s parents, who were involved in a contemporary Christian group called "Charity" in the mid to late 1970's, got him started at a very early age. T.J. has been around music for his entire life. He began leading worship for his youth group at Spring Hill Baptist Church ( Mobile, AL ) in 1995, his sophomore year in high school, with his first band "The Crew". He continued to lead worship during college first with "Total Praisin' Band" and later with "The Revolution Praise Band" both at First Baptist Church of Opelika, Alabama. After moving to Fort Worth T.J. took the Worship Leadership position at Christ Community Church ( Fort Worth, TX ) and then moved to the worship band at Keystone Church ( Keller, TX ). Today he leads a large congregation in the Bay Area. Through all of his years as a worship leader, T.J. has felt the call to write and perform music for his generation. He feels that as Christians, we are obligated to give God the best that we have, and for him, that is his music. His songs strive to be real, "for it is only when we are real" John 4:23 says "that we can truly worship our creator."
