Pictures of My Soul
An integral part of the Oklahoma City music scene for the last 20 years, Tod Kelih has experienced a great deal of success fronting such bands as "EZ Access", " Jim the Elephant", "Tod Kelih and the Broken Heart Ensemble", and the highly successful "Martini Kings". His musical background is a mosaic of styles and genres spanning pop, heavy metal, alternative, jazz and swing. He has performed over 2,000 times thus far in his career, including intimate venues and large concerts of over 50,000 people. He has opened shows for major label recording artists, including Men at Work, The Spin Doctors, Flock of Seagulls, 98 Degrees, Zack Wilde, The Refreshments, and Semisonic. The common thread in his musical odessey has been a burning desire to write and perform his own music. Touching other lives with the experiences of his own, Tod has come full circle in realizing his dream of recording his musical legacy and begun another chapter in his life. Having written over 80 originals so far, "Pictures of My Soul" speaks volumes about his creative style of writing, and his ability to infuse his songs with vitality and passion. This highly unique and emotional sound was created by Tod and his producer, Doug Emrich. Their intention was to capture the very essence of the original songs without diluting or over-processing, staying far away from much of the commercial main stream music offered to the public today. They wanted to keep the songs simple, raw, very dynamic, following Tod's own emotionally charged lyrics and delivery of his material. Tods love of life and passion for the common man has led him to work with handicapped children for ten of the last 14 years, and he currently works with disadvantaged kindergarten children. This album is filled with songs of love and loss, passion, and life experiences that everyone can seem to identify with. We invite you to enjoy these frames of his life...
