Product Notes

Top Ten Idols Bio Top Ten Idols are an alternative; guitar pop band located in Pittsburgh, PA playing some of the most interesting and catchy songs you will ever come across. They have just completed their brand new 11-song album 'Broadcast Day' that exemplifies their dedication to songwriting and use of melody and intense lyrics. Their 2001 release 'American Romeo' helped earn them two consecutive years of selection (2002 and 2003) as semifinalists of Pittsburgh's prestigious Graffiti Rock Challenge. Since then, TTI have continued honing their song craft and their tight live performances. The Idols: Frank Postava Frankie has been playing drums in the Pittsburgh area for over 11 years. He started off his musical career playing with a band called The Right and continued his musical exploration through college playing with the University of Pittsburgh's African Drum Ensemble. He has a wide range of musical influences but relates most closely to Jeff Buckley. Matt Sever Matt has been involved in numerous recording projects in the Northeast since he began playing guitar in his early teens, ranging from hair metal to modern folk to progressive rock. However, Matt had not quite found the band he was looking for until he joined Top Ten Idols. Some of Matt's main influences are Allan Holdsworth and David Gilmore. Bern Steinbacher Bern is the principal songwriter and vocalist for the idols. He spent most of his college years playing with Boxcar 5, who were also Rock Challenge finalists. After a little respite to attend Medical School, he helped form what are now the Top Ten Idols. Marc Turina Marc plays bass and provides back up vocals for the band. He has a long history in the Pittsburgh music scene and was the notorious bass guitarist in Low Sunday Ghost Machine for several years. Although Marc has a wide range of musical influences, his all-time bass idol is Andy Rourke of the Smiths.
