Season with Athena
She creates music, poetry, and blends them together in song. She is a therapist; she's been in therapy. She is a feminist, an activist, a scholar. She can sing gently and clearly. She can growl for social change. She is intense but also becomes obnoxious at the drop of a hat. She embodies contradiction; just as all of humanity does. She learned piano at age seven then moved to the guitar. She wrote an angst-ridden song at sixteen. She's been playing the guitar for 20 years now and she's a kick-ass guitarist. She's been known to play a song or two on the banjo. She writes about her own experience. She tells the truth. Not everybody likes that. Of her debut CD, 'Vue Weekly' (edmonton) said that 'the listener is rewarded with songs that offer some keen observations on the human condition'.
