Until U Say Move
Tricey Lee is a native of Chicago, and has been singing and writing songs for over twenty years. She kept her original songs stored away because, in her words, "I had faith that the world would hear some of them one day." However, her only professional experience was as a background singer for the now defunct industrial/techno/pop/rock band, Sister Soleil. She made the switch to gospel only two years ago. She says, "I felt compelled to record a gospel album. Besides, I couldn't afford to sing secular songs anymore. It looks as if the world is falling apart from my vantage point, and I wanted to communicate a sense of hope through music. As far as I am concerned, gospel is the best way to go." The entire album was recorded in her basement. She, along with some family members, built the recording booth themselves with old wooden doors. Also, they made the spitguard by putting a sock over a clothes hanger. They bought the rest of the necessary recording and musical equipment piece by piece over the course of a year. Enjoy!
