Truckless formed in Portland, Oregon in 2002 by former members of Chapel Hill's Starpoint Electric. Singer/guitarist Ted Boyer and lead guitarist Stephen Galloway had played together in Starpoint for several years, releasing three records and touring with local favorites Archers of Loaf and Southern Culture on the Skids before relocating to Portland in 2001. They were soon joined by bassist Elliott Rosen and drummer Clay Boyer. After self-releasing a debut single and a 7-song e.p., the band replaced Clay with Olympia-native Scott Smith. Now they are ready to bring their unique brand of music to all corners of the map. Their sound is hard to pin down. With four band members coming from very different musical backgrounds, the product is one that defies easy description. What is certain is that the feeling and the power behind it are there. Add to that the familiarity that comes with guitarists that have played together for over six years and the professionalism of a seasoned road act, and you've got a band to reckon with.
