Product Notes

With a passel of rootsy songs about whiskey, women, heartache and interstate highways Truckstop Coffee cranks out a reviving take on the road-worn genre of Americana/whatever-u-call-it rock 'n roll. Named after the powerful stuff that helps keep you between the lines on those long lonely drives, this hard-working four-piece blends overdriven tube amps, telecaster twang, and rough-hewn vocals for a yesteryear sound that'll break yer heart and sew it up again with steel strings. In their fast four years together, Truckstop Coffee has torn through a few hundred shows and had a whole lot of fun making good friends and fans. The boys have opened up for national acts like Jimmie Van Zant, The Georgia Satellites, Unknown Hinson, Drag the River, Two Cow Garage, JJ Grey & MOFRO, Corey Smith, The Red Elvises, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, Magnolia Electric Co., John Ralston and more. Through plenty of blood, sweat, and backbreak, TSC has earned a reputation for delivering honest, urgent performances everywhere they play! Current Events... Right now the fellas are chipping away at another full-length record, For Dear Life. 12 tracks have been cut and mixed at 5 Spot Records in Orlando. A mastering session is in the works, and TSC plans to play shows through the summer and fall while shopping for a label. Discography... TSC released a five song EP in 2004. They celebrated their first full-length recording titled One Damn Thing To Redeem in December 2006 (available on itunes). The 10-track debut is a wanderlustful journey through a blue-highway landscape of raucous roots rock and yesteryear country. It's loud overdriven guitars. It's pedal steel and fiddle. And, it was recorded one part in southern Florida and one part in Knoxville, Tennessee. In July '08 Pete made an 11-track home recording called Fly Far Blackbird to take on his solo acoustic stomp box tours this past summer. What they say... '...Truckstop Coffee has established itself as one of the top twang-rock outfits in the area (the quartet hails from Lake Worth). Led by sandpaper-but-sweet vocalist Pete Stein, the band confidently alternates between rollicking whiskey songs and somber ballads.' - Wade Tatangelo - Creative Loafing - Sarasota/Tampa, FL 'Call it alt-country, Americana, roots-rock -- whatever. It's good music, period, whether you're on the road to El Paso or on the subway to Manhattan.' - Jason Budjinsky - New Times "Truckstop Coffee plants one foot in country and another one firmly in rock... The quartet revels in the rapid-fire, rockin' side of alt-country." - Dan Sweeney - City Link Magazine 'One of the most striking things about Truckstop Coffee is that it's easy to see each member is having a blast on stage. [They] are having a great time, playing music they like and feeding off the energy of their growing audiences.' - Audra Hodges - Live On Stage Magazine Named the "Best Country Act - 2005' in southern Florida by City Link Magazine Pete Stein - Guitar/Vocals Caleb James - Guitar/Vocals Bob Hershberger - Bass Guitar Larry Fulford - Drums.
