WINNERS of the 2008 Academy of Western Artists Western Music Duo/Group of the Year Award and WINNERS of the Western Music Association Crescendo Award for Most Promising Talent! Within today's modern landscape cluttered with technology and fast-paced living it is not very often one is able to slow down and remember a time when things were a bit less hectic and a lot more carefree. The Tumbling Tumbleweeds have come along to remind us of just that time, when the cowboy was king and the Wild West was a chapter in our history to be both revered and celebrated. After a triumphant debut appearance at the Western Music Association's Western Music Festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico in November of 2007 The Tumbling Tumbleweeds were enthusiastically urged to produce a CD by both fans and colleagues in the Western Music Community. The Tumbling Tumbleweeds answered back with their first album aptly titled, "The Tumbling Tumbleweeds." This collection of songs from The Tumbling Tumbleweeds repertoire is playfully assembled here on their debut CD. With songs as well known as Ghost Riders in the Sky to their own original, "Golden Grizzly," a humorous tale told in song about a true-life figure in California history, William Holcomb, a miner who discovered gold by accident while chasing a bear he'd shot at and missed. It is that element of story and whimsical fortune that not only keeps the American West alive and in the hearts of people everywhere but also that which The Tumbling Tumbleweeds wish to honor musically. The Tumbleweeds themselves are all actors as well as singers and it is that element of story and theatrical prowess that they bring to their music. The CD includes a 12 page full color booklet with photos, lyrics, liner notes and more! 'Currenlty in the Top 10 Western Music Charts all across America and the World!' 'I love the sound! You will too. This is a fun CD and it comes through that these four fellers are having a great time!' -Dallas McCord Radio Host of 'Cowboy Culture Corner' KNND Oregon 'Their harmonies are tight and the creativity they show is something that's a missing element in western music today.' -Marvin O'Dell Radio Host of 'Around the Campfire' HeartlandPublicRadio.org 'This is a must listen to CD!' Bodie Dominguez, Music Critic 'Rope Burns Magazine' 'This CD is a worthy start out of the gate. It should please their new legion of fans and it's certainly sufficient indication of the terrific potential of the group. The Tumbling Tumbleweeds definitely have the chops and the charm to be Western Music standard bearers to a new audience.' Rick Huff, Music Critic 'The Western Way Magazine' The album also includes tributes to the works of Gene Autry and Walt Disney along with some (what the Tumbleweeds call) "Schtick" preceding their version of the rollicking Western Swing classic San Antonio Rose. Anyone who remembers the days of the Silver Screen Cowboys like Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers will appreciate this musical journey back to the Old West.
