A renaissance man maybe...an artist absolutely. That would be the best description for Tym de Santo's multi-faceted approach to art...and life for that matter. In addition to his award winning music he has won awards with his photography and sculptural furniture, but music is the passion. Tym has been in three bands, won two national music showcases and recorded nearly 30 original songs. He has played for numerous record labels in Nashville, Tennessee and played more shows than he can recall and still the songs play in his head like waves pounding a beach. 'I like to think of my music as sound pictures. Songs to remember. Songs that the listener can view with their eyes closed and yet create a picture in their minds eye.' De Santo is a singer/songwriter with a fascinating blend of past and present influences. He grew up a preacher-college professor-author's kid, moving frequently and even spent a year living in Nottingham, England as a boy. He was a late starter as artist/performers go but found his footing quickly, winning his first national showcase within one year of forming the first band. De Santo went on to write and record with bands Visual Purple and Vade, releasing the CD 'The Course of History' with Vade in 2002. When the band split up, (amiably that is), Tym went on to write and play shows as a solo act but with the support of his former keys player, Nathan Mc Millen. 'I felt it was time to see just how good I was on my own', says De Santo. The outcome was his first solo release titled 'Over Again' and De Santo feels it is his best yet. His music is both soothing and at the same time lyrically thought provoking in a sort of, 'Isn't life a fascinating journey' sort of way. He calls it, 'lusciously melodic pop rock'. Lately Tym has found success on the internet's hottest new music website, Garageband.com. Garageband is a peer review site boasting nearly half a million musicians who review each others songs, after which songs are ranked accordingly. De Santo's song, 'Wanna Go On With You' from his CD 'Over Again' was selected from over 18,000 songs to be featured as 'Track Of The Day' on Garageband.com's Pop Rock front page. 'Wanna Go On With You' has also been ranked 12th Best Lyrics and 20th Best Keyboards of all-time in Garageband's Pop Rock catagory. These rankings are also out of the nearly 19,000 songs in the Pop Rock category. A producer in Nashville told him, 'you don't come with every CD so remember to let the music do the talking'. Since then De Santo has worked hard to let the music do just that...and boy can it talk! De Santo says, 'I'm passionate about music and it's ability to impact the heart & soul. Peace, Love & Luscious Rock!'
