Verb & Reverb: Huntsville Poetry Jam / Various
The Huntsville PoetryJam began in 1992 to enhance the local JazzJam. Poetry and Jazz were both rather comatose at the time, so Michael David Smith melded the two in rarefied bliss. This two-disc CD celebrates the 17th anniversary of the PoetryJam with fourteen poets reading almost fifty of their own poems about a range of emotions, issues and themes. Poems cover love, literature, religion, politics, science, memory, race and music, among others. The poets range from early adults to super seniors. The poems were recorded at the PoetryJam itself. Others were recorded in a studio.
